In 1961, Mr. Gerhard Pöhlmann founded Georg Bergmeier GmbH in Freilassing, Germany. With the goal of “healthy living environments”, the company has dedicated itself to the research, development, design and application of moisture and damp control technologies for concrete structures. Right from its founding, it obtained the commercial license for the Ernst & Traber electro-osmosis wall dehumidification patent, providing systematic moisture control, dehumidification and mould prevention solutions for “integrated building environments”.
Independent Innovation • World First
In 1987, the team successfully developed the world’s first wireless wall drying system, enabling “no construction required, ready to use upon installation” for the first time. Having undergone rigorous laboratory testing and long-term market validation, the products have successively obtained the TÜV SÜD SAFE certification for human safety (one of the world’s strictest testing authorities) and European TÜV certification. With advantages including easy installation, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, zero noise and zero pollution, they have been top sellers in European and American markets for more than 30 years.
Dual-Line Strategy • Deep Roots in Asia
In 2011, OSMOTECH entered the Chinese market through authorized representation, operating under a multi-brand strategy featuring OSMOTECH, OSMOTERRA and GEORG BERG.
Since entering China, its products have been procured and used by government agencies, enterprises and public institutions, health and wellness centres, and widely applied in hotels, hospitals, villas, factories, temples, archives, warehouses, apartments and various other spaces.
Looking to the Future • System Upgrade
In 2024, OSMOTECH launched an integrated moisture, dehumidification and mould prevention system, including Wall Dehumidifiers and inverter air-purifying dehumidifiers. Building on its core strengths of “no construction, ready to use, low noise and low energy consumption”, the brand has achieved a leap from “wall dehumidification” to “healthy integrated air and wall environments”.
Going forward, OSMOTECH will continue to focus on developing products for healthy living environments, enabling more families to enjoy the freshness and well-being brought by technology.

Gerhard Perlemann, President of Bergmeier GmbH (the predecessor of OSMOTERRA), learned that Ernst and Professor Traber owned this patent, which was complementary to his existing moisture prevention and dehumidification business.
He then applied for and obtained the world's first commercial license for the electro-osmosis method, initiating the commercial application of this technology and focusing on moisture prevention and dehumidification in concrete buildings.
with the support of Nobel Laureate Professor Richard Ernst, Bergmeier GmbH successfully developed the world's first wireless electro-osmotic Wall Dehumidifier. It requires no construction, is harmless to the human body, and pioneered the field of "non-intrusive building dehumidification".
OSMOTERRA (later renamed OSMOTECH) entered the Chinese market through authorized agents.
OSMOTECH GmbH has relocated its headquarters and R&D center to Austria, while retaining its production facility in Germany. It has also established a direct office in China to further strengthen local service and support in the Chinese market.
OSMOTECH, taking into account climate and environmental changes and based on the characteristics of the Chinese market environment, has launched a moisture-proof, dehumidifying and mildew-removing system, which includes Wall Dehumidifier and Inverter air purification dehumidifier, among other products. This system features no need for construction, ready-to-use upon installation, low noise, and low energy consumption.
Gerhard Pöhlmann,former CEO of the Bergmeier-Company was very successful during decadesin dehumidify buildings and today he is counsellor of OSMOTERRA(The predecessor of OSMOTECH ) which he considers as the legitimate successor of his work.
